Today, June 22 is Windrush day in UK. We want to take the time to celebrate the great impact that Caribbean descendants have made to the UK.
It’s been officially 74 years since the very first Windrush ship docked in Tilbury, Essex. Many people from across the Caribbean region alongside Polish refugees took a chance for a new start and to help rebuild the nation.
Yasmin shares the story of her great-grandmother’s journey from Jamaica to Britain, taking you through her struggles of racism upon reaching Britain and her triumphant victories upon settling.
