What made these songs so special is that they all had a connection with the modalities of each episode. But what makes the last few goodbye songs of the show more touching is that they were release after the passing of Luna’s voice actress, Lynne Thigpen.
Not only were we saying goodbye to Luna, but we were also bidding farewell to the actress who defined a generation of playhouse Disney fun. RIP Lynne, hope you’re still shining as bright as you were to the big blue house. 🌕

God bless this show. The day it came onto Disney+ (something I’ve been BEGGING Disney to do for eons) was also the day my family and I buried my Grandma Ro. I didn’t shed a single tear at the funeral. Yet, when we got home, as soon as I started watching a random episode of Bear in the Big Blue House, I broke down into hysterics. The only problem with The Goodbye Song: Lynne Thigpen, the voice of Luna, died of a cerebral hemorrhage during the show's run.

Just hearing the brief clip of Thigpen singing "it's time to go" really hurts in that context. Tara Mooney had said that the crew's hearts just weren't in it anymore when they tried to resume production. The tradition of The Goodbye Song, I have no doubt, contributed to that.

The Bear Cha Cha Cha was so iconic that on Treehouse TV (the station that BITBBH originally aired on in Canada), instead of a Treetown short (the segments they would play featuring the channel's mascots that would play after shows and short-form content), they would sometimes play the music video for this song.

This show was my childhood, so grateful to grow up with it! Bear was the warm, kind, loving, fuzzy friend we all needed. I always looked forward to the end of each episode for the goodbye song with Luna, it was amazing to see Bear recap the entire day with her before singing together. All the songs were catchy and good but the goodbye song just gives all the feels ❤❤❤
