THE GLOBE: SHAKESPEARE’S THEATRE OF MEMORY?

I have made several videos in whichI have explained you Giordano Bruno’s art of memory and how John Florio used it.

But was the art of memory common in the Renaissance? Did just Florio and a few others use it or was it a sought after skill?

Today i will tell you secret stories about the art of memory and why it wasn’t just the art of storing words and images, but something more, a way to connect with the outside world.

Definitely staying resolute - from now on! So interesting! Every thing begins to tie up after centuries….
Hope you are aware of these three names within the ambit of your work for the additional perspectives and items of knowledge they may possibly bring to it - Alexander Waugh; Alan Green (y/t Bard Code; also - as Arlan Day ‘I surrender’ from youthful days as a musician); and Hank Whittemore (‘The Living Record’). Thanx thanx thanx - great work.

Ancient astrology has 7 planets (moon, mercur, venus, sun, mars, jupiter, Saturn) and the theatre uses the order of the tree of life ( malkuth, chesed … ). These are the primal energies, which shows up every step in a different disguise, but in a certain parallel theme. So it is a matrix to find and identify analogies, which is the main task of an astrologer

Oh, wow. Makes perfect sense and it suggests that I've already got my theater of memory... I just didn't use it. A little like having a crochet hook and using it to turn sausages. 🙂🙃

Oddly, I see John Florio to be an architype for another literary figure in the person of Cyrano de Bergerac.
