My walkthrough of making a hammock stand out of 2x4s.

why did you not brace from the underside of the top beam to the inside of the right or left tall beams. and make a triangle there . then you would be bracing the top against the left or right beam and that would make it stronger would it not. Your way you just attached it to them but you are not doing a brace? Great video though thanks for sharing great idea.The same idea for the bottom brace as well? Just wondered.

Made one of these, solid design and easy to build. I’m 6 ft tall so used a 10’ 2 x 4 for the top rail and it’s perfect, thanks for the video

Based on what I can tell in the video I believe this is the parts and Cut list.
5 - 2"x4"x8'
8 - 1/2" - 4" Bolts & Nuts
2 - 1/2"x 4" Eye Bolts and Nuts
3" Wood Screws - Several for joining wood.

Cut List:
2 - 2"x4" x 5'6"
2 - 2"x4" x 5' 2 1/2"
2 - 2"x4" x 2' 6" - BASE
2 - 2"x4" x 2' 1/4" - BASE Brace with ends cut at 45 degree angle
1 - 2"x4" x 8' - TOP
2 - 2"x4" x 2' 4" - TOP Brace with ends cut at 45 degree angle

The eye bolt holding the hammock goes between the two pieces of wood? How has this held up over time ?
