You saved me. A neighbor told me about my brake lights being on after 9pm. I scrambled to look this problem up and found your and other videos on the issue but yours was the most helpful. My Honda Accord is 2006 and I had a devil of a time getting under the plastic cover. I rushed to the auto parts store before they closed. I was able to get the part & install it after I goofed my 1st attempt. Kudos to you for making this video for us.

So happy you explained how to remove the plastic piece so you can get to the switch!

God bless you, dude! I noticed my cruise control stopped working on the drive home from work, only to have my landlord knock at my door a few hours later and tell me my brake lights were stuck on. He suggested the stop pad may have broken off, and sure enough, there it was in my floorboard in pieces. Finding your video quickly allowed me to make it to the auto parts store with mere minutes to spare before they closed, it was absolutely serendipitous.
My 2007 Accord actually had three philipshead screws holding the front plate in place (two longer ones slightly to the right of the one you removed) but once I got them off, it was smooth sailing. It's concise, clearly shot instructional videos like yours that justify Youtube's existence. I can't thank you enough!

Thank you so much. We just realized the brake lights have been on for several hours. Everything is closed, but I will certainly take care of it tomorrow. You are an angel.

I thought this was gone be a big problem, thought I was gone have to disconnect my battery every time I get out my car so my car won’t go dead! But then I seen this video, and this literally took me 5 mins and only cost 11.00! Great job in explaining and demonstrating 🙌🏾

Than you so very much you just helped to help my Dad from throwing a tantrum at spoiling out last minute trip plans coming up & saved us money. Seriously Idk you, but if I did I’d give you a big high five & a hug of appreciation & gratitude. My Dad is the grumpiest of grumpy old men seriously saved this entire weeks trip & plans & me the headache of dealing w/a very angry perturbed grumpy old man. ❤😊

Came home couple nights ago to find our 2008 Honda Odyssey brake lights on. It is parked outside and hasn't been used in over a month. I am like what the heck? Did a quick search and found this video. Went out this morning when it is a little cooler. Found pieces of the bumper on the mat under the brake pedal. Confirmation. Read somewhere else about taping a couple pennies up there as a temporary fix. While searching for tape, I found those felt stickers you put under chair legs so they slide easier. Peeled one off and reached up there and put it on where the bumper goes and problem solved. I guess I will buy the replacement bumper for $10 but I think the felt sticker would work for a long-term solution. Thanks for a very useful video. Fortunately I did not have to remove any dash parts to access where the bumper goes.

Thank you! Your title is perfect too, it's what I put into YT to try to figure out what was going on with my car after I replaced the battery and realized my lights were still on. My part arrives tomorrow. I really appreciate you making this video.

Thank you for posting, I now know what is wrong with my 2008 Honda Civic!! I don't have to remove anything, can see everything on my brake pedal, and unhooked the brake lights so my battery doesn't drain & can fix it tomorrow!! Thank you so much!!

Just noticed my brakes lights staying on, noticed a little hard plastic piece on the floor board, disconnected the battery, watched your video, and now I can fix it in the morning! Two thumbs up for making it an easy fix!!

Thank you. This fixed my 2001 Honda Accord. Did not need to remove any of the dash - a very easy repair. It took me a while to realize my lights were not going off. Replaced my old battery and the new battery soon died.

THANK YOU!!! This was the first video I clicked on and it is exactly what's wrong. Bumper has disappeared.

Also, gotta love that clear coat defect on our year and model haha. I always know an '07 when I see it because it's got matte stripes on the hood and roof.

Thank you so much, I saw your video screen shot the part went to advance and back home. I followed your video and my brake lights are back to normal. Thank you again. You help me fix this in under 30 minutes.

Thanks for the clear instructions. Replaced the bumper with a M6 bolt from harbor freight. Why they make they bumper out of plastic! And seemingly redundant since the distance of the switch is adjustable.

I thought of donating my 98 Honda Civic when I saw the brake lights constantly ON causing battery to die not knowing where the problem is. I saw this video and repaired it with Honda part 46505-SA5-000. Now it is working fine. Thank you bunch for saving money as mechanics would charge minimum $100 to touch a car for diagnostics.
