Yesterday, I had no idea what the Endurance was
After the news broke that it had been found, I went to Wikipedia and read about its history.
That made viewing this video more dramatic even.
Tremendous story.

I find it amazing that such an old fashioned ship was built and launched as late as 1912. The design looks like something from 1878.

One could only imagine what Shackleton was thinking or feeling when he watched the ice crush his ship slowly, leaving them alone in one of the most inhospitable places on the planet.

And we finally found it 107 years later. Incredibly, it's in remarkable condition. Hope to see drone footage of the inside of the ship.

107 years later she finally has been discovered! One of the most important discoveries of the century!

Imagine how much their hearts must have sunk seeing the first mast come down-- what you would probably think is your one hope to ever see you home again, cracked apart by the ice. The Endurance remains one of the most extraordinary tales of survival to this day.

Amazing video. Some of the crew thought it should've been built more like a "bowl" hull, in which the ice compression would have lifted it, instead of compacting it.
