My Termite Colony Produced Massive Soldiers

I'm thrilled to see that my starting pet termite colonies are now producing soldiers, specialized workers with massive heads and long sharp jaws for defense. With the termite colonies at this stage of their development, I'll soon have to decide how to house the new colony to give them the resources and room to start growing their food: a special termite fungus, that these termites farm. I discuss more about what I learned about this unique species of termite in this video and ask for your opinions and help. Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution. #termites

Greetings AC Family/Termite Lovers, I'm thrilled to share this update on our new soldiers, as well as the new information I found out about our termites. I truly hope our termites make it! I sadly can't have a fungus-growing ant colony, because they aren't native to where I live, but it's awesome that fungus-growing termites exist in my very back yard! Anyway, please LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE (Hit the BELL and Select ALL for Notification Squad) to join our evergrowing AC Family! I appreciate the support, guys! Hugs! Ant/Termite Love Forever! So, about the question I ask in this video, what do you guys think?

I think that since you have multiple colonies, it would be best to try both approaches and see which is better.

The cookie jar seems to be a better option. It’s a much larger space, so you won’t have to move them for a long time. Not that it matters but it’s also more aesthetically pleasing. I’m so excited to see them flourish!

I think you should use the cookie jar as it would be amazing for filming and easy to expand

I'd really like to see both but if you have to choose one, go with the second option. I think they'll really enjoy the extra space.

I'd go with number #2 the cookie jar, just seems overall more productive as our colony will expand and they might as well be prepared for the amount of space they'll have besides from the fact that it'd be a bit more interesting to watch.

I think option number 2 is best, but I saw someone saying that doing both options would be best seeing as you have multiple colony’s. I think that is a good idea too!

Go big, if it doesn't work then you can go small. As always Great job, thanks for the update! God bless you and your amazing project! Ant, Termite Love Forever ❤️

I say cookie jar, though the little flat portal is a really nice environment condition for the termites, but I feel like the jar is better with filming and gives the termites space to grow their fungus up high, and make tunnels in the fungus and all that

I haven’t watched this channel in over 4 years. It feels good to be back and rekindle my love for insects

Can we please have a update video on what colonies you actually have now you have moved into your new house? 🙌🏻

The relationship between the Fungus and the Termites goes both ways.
I've seen docs about mycelium(fungus) and how they coordinate plants
And some animals (termites) for thier, and ALL of our benefit.
Amazing.

Definitely go big in this case. The cookie jar looks great and if the entrance to the outworld is at the top of the jar, the CO2 which is heavier than air at room temperature would remain in the jar and not escape outside. At least that would work in theory.

You should create a set up similar to an ant Petri dish set up. This set up works great for fungus growing ants. Make a small sand chamber and drill small holes (big enough for a syringe tip) that have access to the small sand chamber. Pour a layer of plaster over the sand and then put a layer of sand on top of the plaster. This set up will allow you to keep the Petri dish moist without opening the petri or leaving a test tube connected. Test tube set ups easily mold, which I’m sure you know, and this mold is very bad for the fungus. Injecting water into the sand chamber and allowing it to moisturize the plaster will likely make an ideal environment. I don’t know a ton about termites, but I would highly suggest asking your termite friend about this option! If the way I worded this is confusing just ask and I can provide links/images of the set up.

Can you possibly give them both options and let them choose which environment they prefer. That would seem to me to be the best option if it's at all possible. Keep up the great work and please enjoy your new home. 👍 ✌🇨🇦🐜🐜👍💯

Connect both size vessels and let them choose? Have an out world full of soil stuffs they can import later on? Use the petri dish as a central hub (birthing tube, water tube, large jar vessel, sugar tube, eventual out-world).

I am really amazed by your ways of bringing these misunderstood creatures closer to so many people. Your excitement really is contagious!
Regarding the next step, the petridish might be the safest option. Although the cookie jar really sounds amazing if it works out.

I hope you all have a beautiful day!

I think you should maybe go with the big jar, then you can setup the rest of the tank!! This is so awesome to see!! Thank you for your videos!!! Love your ant videos too!!! It's why i started to watch the videos!!!!

Perhaps combine both? Like put the termites in the cookie jar so they can build their "mounds" while connecting it to a petri dish where u can add their leaves as I feel they need time to build and start up the fungus garden before exploring and utilizing the large outworld.
