BEST GUITAR for Metalcore, Djent, Thall & Low Tuning

Показать описание
The Squier Bass VI is surprisingly the best guitar for djent, thall, metalcore and any low tuned metal subgenre. Given that modern metalcore and deathcore is tuned lower, using this bass as a guitar actually works better than an 8 string or 9 string guitar. When learning how to write a metalcore song, it's important to have the instrument for the job, and I believe this @fender is the right guitar for detuned metal. I comfortable go to Double Drop B, C# and even lower with thicker strings, to accomplish a similar Darko US sound, or Loathe.

Let me know what you think of the Squier Bass VI. Which tuning would you like to hear with this guitar?

Watching all this content from you on Bass VI, realized how I miss mine and actually bought it back. There's some strange magic going with this guitar for me, ultra versatile instrument.

This is so sick, dude! I've been wanting a bass vi for a bit, and I think you're just selling it even more to me unintentionally 😂

YES, I love being able to track bass and guitar with the same instrument. I have the older Ibanez SRC6 and an Agile Intrepid Pro 630 currently. I love these instruments♡

Been using my Hapas with P90's and Evertune for a while and although I need to be careful about the noise at times, it's the best thing ever for low tuned stuff and clarity across the strings for sure! Great vid btw, I had one of these for a bit and couldn't make it sound that good, sounds like this new version is much better.

Great video! Longtime fan here. Y'all actually played in my hometown of Cookeville, TN YEARS ago. I play one of these along with the Squier Carbonita Tele Baritone in this band. Our first album we put out last year didn't feature the VI but the next one def will several times.

Everything here is exactly why I got mine. I've had it for about two years now, and I've had nothing but loads of fun. Particularly a massive fan of using the Neural DSP SLO with this guitar. So much fun. +1 subscriber for finally finding someone who goes in depth with it!

Also just to throw another super budget bass VI option out there, the gear4music Seattle “baritone” is 30 inches and comes strung up with bass VI strings tuned low E-E, and is a super solid mod platform

Let's be real most people who are playing these genres of music are not using all 7, 8 or 9 strings on their guitars lmao. A baritone is the perfect guitar.

Singlecoil noise is a bummer indeed. It would definitely be interesting to see you install a set of noiseless singlecoils (of some sort) on this guitar. My first thought was a set of Strat pickups, but I actually don't know how they would fit - seeing as how the Bass VI pickups are more similar to Jaguar pickups than Strat pickups. Please do it and show us how it's done! 😀

Everything that Brendon say it's true, I tried all of these guitars, the biggest difference is scale 30 instead of 27 baritone, sound is totally different on 30. Two best options in my case are Subzero (and change pickup-also you can put active one and battery under plastic) if you want more "normal" sound of 30 with humbucker or this Squier to sound more like Loathe but to change also sing coil pickup with some better one. You just need to know that Brendon is professional and the sound that he get form this Squier is unreal and honestly a little bit hard to get but is not impossible 😁😂 Love your videos bro, Struc/tures all the way❤

Love that you demonstrated a 6 string instrument for low tuning. Playing a 7 or more string instrument is another level of technique. The neck is Fat therfore having to modify how you hold the instrument. I work with heavy equipment and I'll always be happy playing a 6 string. My hands go through enough. Keep shredding everyone. 🎉Metal forever.

Brendon! Wonderful video my guy! Subbed!

I have the Harley Benton Guitarbass VS as my personal guitar. Its my favorite guitar that I own.

Can i get the patch you used for the tone? Ill share one of mine! Thanks in advance!

Also, what are your thoughts on upgrading the bridge pickup to a hot rail? Ive done it on mine and it lost some of its bwang and bounce, but improved its noiseness, and increased its gain.

I fucking need this immediately. Loving your channel man. I’m hitting a real wall with modern heavy mixing. Gonna binge your vids tomorrow.

Great review! Simple but thorough. I’m a bassist but I’ve never seen this before. Love it!

I just want to say thank you.

I have been very hesitant to get myself an 8- or a 9-string guitar to try lower tunings (to play Meshuggah, to be more specific) for quite a while.

I bought a Squier Bass VI because of your recommendation, and I could not be happier.
I bought some nylon bearings to stop the bridge from wiggling and got the 100-gauge strings. It is an amazing instrument.

The only downside for me is the whammy bar: it does not stay in place in an angle I am setting it to, and goes down to 6 o’clock the moment I let go, sometimes even falling out of the socket if I am moving a lot.

How did you manage to make yours so stable?

it's so sick that you're embracing the whammy bar with this! i get that evertune and such is amazing, but honestly using the whammy bar is even more sick

I love your content! I’ve been trying to find someone that uses Ableton Live and is making modern metal. I’m relatively new to playing guitar. My love for low tunings and heavy music is really growing. Thanks for what you do. Mad respect of your skillz.

I'm 2 months late but at 9:16 SubZero is a brand that for example the guitarist of Silent Planet uses and as you can hear on their recent album it sounds great
