Apple VESA Mount Adapter Unboxing and Install

preview_player
Показать описание
This is a how-to video for installing VESA mount adapter on any 24" or 27" iMac, Cinema Display or Thunderbolt display.

WARNING: If you do not rotate your display ALL the way forward AFTER releasing the internal spring, the internal bracket will not lock into place. If the bracket is not locked into place, once you remove the stand, the bracket will retract inside the monitor, making it impossible to install the mount.

An excellent "how to video". Matter of fact. Minimal yet sufficient instructions and accompanying dialogue. A great help and a pleasure to watch. thanks a bunch!

If anyone is struggling: Apple did not make the late 2012 model with a removable stand.

Yes it works just fine with iMacs as well as Cinema/Thunderbolt Displays

Cool 😎 video. But, how about a Part No and link to where we can purchase the VESA Mount kit? 🤷🏾

Really challenging to get the old stand to fold again - I find that if you lay the monitor on it's face and push it even further closed (?) the it will click and open fully. Thanks for the video tho - it's been 1.5 yrs since I mounted my monitors and I almost forgot the old "card" trick :)

Just FYI, it IS possible once the bracket attachment gets lost inside the monitor. It took me quite a while to figure out exactly how to do it but the best way is to get a wire-hanger for hanging clothes and untangle it and hook it through one of the holes. Then you'll need to find a pretty strong person to help you pull that sucker out.

Does this work with a 2015 27” 5K iMac 🖥?

Can anyone confirm what size/type of bit is used for the screws in this? I bought an iMac with this mount pre-installed and need to take it off but it seems to be right in between T-10 and T-15 size bits.

Can't thank you enough for your video. I was missing the middle screw on the mount and after hours of aligning and a genius appointment. I realize the missing screw was the reason. Thank you.

I use an articulating arm mount, so I have plenty of space. If you are using a flat wall mount, it could get a little tight for USB sticks.

When I slide the card in, I'm not feeling any spring resistance so I'm not able to finish the step, the screen does not move forward to expose the screws... Any idea why?

And you didn't show it mounted....

I had to have one of my monitors warranty replaced after I had installed this mount (the issue was unrelated to the mount), so no, it does not void your warranty.

Anyone know if the design is different for an older 2008 MB323LL/A iMac?

Thank you for the Video. I just was google for "How to replace the stand" and found this.

I am considering mounting the mac over my streaming monitors as extra PC to take notes for starcitizen stuff :D

I've been trying for hours to get the torx screw tight enough for the holes to be aligned and the bolts to go in, but at this point it's starting to strip the torx screw.

I even tried a second vesa adapter set (I'm trying to mount two thunderbolt displays) and am having the same problem. It just isn't getting there, and I'm worried I'm ruining the screws.

will it work with the Retina display? The only thing I found was a very ugly two-piece bracket that you wrap around the stand it looks so tacky with the whole original stand hanging from the PC
