Barbie Doll Cake using one tip

Decorate a Barbie doll cake using only one piping tip! Using buttercream to completely pipe on her dress. I used the Wilton doll pan and an 8 inch round pan. However you can just use 4 to 5 layers of an 8 inch round cake and carve after it has been chilled in the fridge to make this shape if you did not have the Wilton doll pan.

Hello! I've got a second hand Wilton doll cake mould so no recipe/instructions with it so was wondering how long you baked it for? I did a trial bake with it after watching another video that said 70minutes but it was way to long and dry! How long did you bake yours for and at what temperature? I also found my doll too tall for the cake so, like @kaybonette said, I also appreciate you pointing out the fact that you need to add a cake on the base - great idea!

I appreciated that you mentioned that the Wilton doll cake pan doesn’t make a tall enough cake for a Barbie doll. While making one last week I used a stretch cake mix recipe to add to the boxed cake mix and it still didn’t rise enough. I baked it at 325 because I wanted it to get taller and after almost an hour the wide top was finally done testing with a toothpick. I wrapped it in plastic wrap and put it in the freezer. I am sure the narrow part of the cake must be very dry. Have you found that the top when inverted is dry? I could cut off a few inches and bake a 5” cake to replace that part. Thanks
