LG OLED Flex TV (42LX3) review - is screen flexibility worth it?

I had a chance to spend a week with LG OLED Flex TV at home and in this video I'm sharing my thoughts about it. This model was introduced in 2022 and it is a part of LG's 2022 product lineup even though it arrived to some markets (like Croatian) in 2023.

WRGB OLED panel, 42-inches, UHD 2160p resolution, webOS 22, built-in DVB-T2/C/S2 tuners, Filmmaker mode and support for Dolby Vision.

From flat to curved (radius 900 mm - 900R) in 20 steps which you can adjust with the remote control, through ThinQ app or using the voice assistant.

Nice job on the review. I'm considering this to replace my Dell S3220DGF curved 2K monitor. While I agree that no TV could compare to a good VR headset for immersion, I'd qualify it by saying this type of large curved monitor is more "immersive" than a smaller flat monitor for gaming. This is currently number one on my list to replace my Dell. I love that it can be flat and the display size shrunk to either 32" or 27" for productivity work, then shift to full 42" curved for gaming use. My primary use for gaming is MSFS2020, and for that, this would be quite stunning. Also, there are many people who don't like VR for valid reasons, with motion sickness concerns being the primary one. As for me, I have a neck injury that makes wearing a VR headset for longer periods of time uncomfortable. As such, until VR headsets shrink in size and weight considerably, this type of monitor is the best option.

A thought…

As of today (3-12-2025), this monitor is priced at: $2, 199.99 (LG site).

The LG OLED 65” C4W can now be bought for $1, 300.00 to $1, 500.00 (Greentoe). $1, 500.00 today at Walmart.

For a few hundred dollars over the $2, 199.99, a person could have two LG 65” C4W TVs. At the worst, $3K vs. $2.2K.

I like the idea and tech but still too pricey knowing OLED is still vulnerable to burn-ins. 2-3 grand is too much to waste my hard-earned money!
