So if a country (China) is efficient and can produce good and cheap products, then you (EU and USA) will complain the EV industry is being subsidized by the China government. How can China subsidize a global EV industry supplying to the ENTIRE WORLD? Please be realistic and understand that no country can do this for any appreciable length of time as China will run out of money (unlike USA which can print more USD).
EU did not invest sufficiently into its production of EV parts and cannot achieve economies of scale for production of EV in Europe.

In Europe, especially in Germany, cars are simply not good value. There, manufacturers have always over-charged customers. The chickens are coming home to roost. China could make European car-makers' lives very unpleasant by indulging in a trade-war. The Chinese are easily offended. I see trouble brewing.

China just passed Japan as the world's largest car exporter, and most of these cars are EV cars. If you have a chance to look into those cars, their price and quality ratio is extremely good.
