Lisa, I love your front porch! It reminds me of when I was a kid. On July 4th we kids would have races running with sparklers . There was no such thing as "child safety" back then. We ate watermelon off the rind and slept away lazy hot afternoons... there is nothing quite like a country front porch.Thanks for sharing.

Lisa, when my brother and I plus cousins were growing up Mama would have me go outside and yell for the boys. Then Mama & Daddy bought a large dinner bell and screwed it to a wooden pole. So then I could ring the dinner bell. Skip several years later, my husband always loved my parents bell so he bought (me) and him a large dinner bell and attached it to a wooden pole. Well many many years later we sell our home and we take that bell with us to our new home and yes it is on a wooden pole. We also have a large front porch with 2 white wooden rockers on it. Thanks for the vlog and I always love your simple but beautiful decor. Happy 4th of July!

I love your porch! I would have a dinner bell if our kids still were at home, but all have families of their own. We do have a bell from Japan that we used inside when we were growing up. I got it after our mama died, so it has a lot of history to it. Our porch has a glider on it with a popsicle pillow and s'mores pillow that I crocheted on it. I just crocheted a small red, white and blue blanket that I draped across the top for some patriotic color since I was a bit late doing anything else. We also have two of the old retro metal chairs that need painting, but not anytime soon.
