My mom started playing Barry Manilow back in the 70’s on Saturdays when we would all have to clean the house. It was her inspiration to get up and get the house clean. I was a kid and hated it! Now, I’m Generation X 50 year old, and I adore Barry Manilow with all my heart. The memories that I have of my mom and of her screaming these songs as she cleaned each Saturday make me both tear up and smile. Miss you, mama. You left us on August 1, 2000, but I’m still listening to your favorite singer of all time, and every time, I think of you.
