Intro to Circuits 1: Overview

This video is the first of an introduction to circuits series, for people who AREN'T electrical engineers. I am a mechanical engineer by training and have taught a mechatronics class at Cornell University. This series is at the level of an introductory college electronics class, or for an advanced high school student or hobbyist. It starts out simple (resistors, Ohm's Law, series and parallel circuits, etc. - things you've problem seen if you've already taken an E&M physics course) and then moves on to other circuit components like diodes, transistors, and operational amplifiers, which you probably wouldn't see in an intro physics course.

The presentation of material was direct and understandable. Thank you for posting the circuits playlist, it is helping me greatly.

Excellent course. The best course on electronics I've ever seen.

Looking forward to the full playlist. Perhaps, if you're still producing them, you can answer a question on transistors when that topic comes up. I know how to compute the current limiting resistor value for an LED. But how do you size the base resistor on an NPN? I use 3.3V and 5V logic level microcontrollers/computers and I want to power on/off a 16x2 LCD programmatically. I'm no trying to bridge across to a higher voltage circuit. Thx
