The Preamble refers to the creators of the government ( The Constitution) and no one else. The Constitution is a contract made with the several States to which no one else is privy to. "We do ordain and ESTABLISH" The Constitution is the government, it is the United States of America. Without it, we have no country. The people are not the government. We're a Constitutional Republic and not a Democracy. Democracy is Socialism.

To use your own phrase..."Right off the bat"...you got it wrong. We DO NOT live in a democracy. We live in a federalist representational republic, made up of individual soverign States. The Constitution is the agreement between these States which sets up a centralized government.

Gentlemen, please, do your homework! We are most certainly NOT a democracy. We are a republic. Not only does the word democracy not appear once in the constitution, but our founders carefully studied democracies of the past, and in conclusion, greatly feared them. Federalist #10 (by James Madison) is an argument for a republic, vs the dangers of a democracy, where a powerful faction can bend the will of the people to serve its ends. At the 1787 Constitutional Convention, Edmund Randolph said, "...    that in tracing these evils to their origin every man had found it in the  turbulence and follies of democracy." John Adams said, "Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. I think they completely misrepresent the truth. this democracy is for the people by the people and when that concept is learned that the lack of crime is not related to effective law enforcement! rather it's the results of effective policing as in the people by the people and persuasion is how we all are responsible for our safety and tranquility along with the police. it certainly is not what we have been told, history has been taken from us. there is a difference in Law Enforcement and Police. Law enforcement as it suggests is for terrorizing with brutal and lethal force. on people, they are sworn to protect and serve. when Police curtail and persuade a different outcome people do not die or get brutalized. create a more desired tranquility We the People need to demand it not expect it because it seems every generation has that task to ensure we continue to work towards that perfect Union.
