PLASMA 2016: Tony Conrad Celebration of Life and Work

The Department of Media Study celebrates the life and work of Professor Tony Conrad, artist, musician, and founding faculty of the Department of Media Study, who passed away on April 9, 2016. Introductory remarks by Professor Roy Roussel and Ted Conrad are followed by a performance of Tony's composition "Amplified Drone Strings" by the UB Department of Music's Open! String Ensemble directed by Jonathan Golove. The performance was followed by a screening of Tony's short video work -- not included in this video documentation -- including: "Landscape is a Wish for Motion," "Weak Bodies and Strong Wills," "In Line," "Palace of Error," "I've Never Been...," "Teddy Tells Jokes," and "Straight and Narrow."
