My best friends mom was a huge Selena fan, but turns it wasn't just the Latinos who loved Selena, her mom met a group of Spaniards who flew 11 hours from Madrid to Houston, just to hear Selena perform in Astrodome. She had such a big impact on the Spanish speaking community. Didn't matter if you were Salvadoran, Mexican, Dominican, Puerto Rican, Peruvian, Colombian, or even Spaniard. If you spoke Spanish, you knew who Selena was.

I was born in 1993 and I watched Selena so many times till at the age 30 like it was the first time; and I love her music and her voice. I can watch her movie so many times & still get upset and mad…!! I am a 76 year old man and I tear up every time I hear this song as well my friend. It’s ok it’s so hurtful that she was taken from us. America’s love affair with guns has scarred us all. John Lennon and Selena deaths should have permanently made us demand to change our thoughts about guns but sadly no. Selena love you!

She died when I was 10 years old. My friends of the neighborhood were all playing outside and one of the little girls my neighbor came out crying saying Selena died. Everyone just looked at each other and just ran inside. This was when the news and music were on fm radio so we all went to listen what happens. She was a beautiful soul. She has been missed. Hopefully we will see you again.
