One of the thing's that chilled me to the bone about this movie was the scene of Gary when he went back to the creepy makeshift cabin structure/ he had just gotten there and was capturing the area around the cabin, it was pitch black outside and all of a sudden you hear the most frightening, erry music or voices that I have ever heard, I had nightmares about those ominous sounds for weeks!! I kept shouting at my TV "RUN GARY!, RUN, GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE"!! I have watched this movie 🎬 at least 15 times! Bravo! Awesome, most chilling, Scare you to the bone movie that I've ever had the privilege to watch! How about a sequel?

The ending scenes... I havent been that scared when watching a horror movie in AGES. I'm not one to cover my eyes in preparation but this did it. Loved every bit of it.

I honestly found it scary, because this can happen to any of us in real life, I know its inspired about a real person, but so many people go missing and truly believe people like that exist. I love horrors but they don’t scare me because they are so unrealistic, but the way he blended in with the cabin then bent down gave me goosebumps! Amazing and shows you don’t need to spend loads to make a good horror! Please do number 3 😊

I always thought I wasn't a fan of slow burns, but this film proves that when it's done right it's still very interesting and effective. The mystery builds up as we learn more about the plot until it reaches a max right before the climax hits it out of the park. Really enjoyed this one.

I consider myself a horror buff. I’ve seen thousands of horror movies and am a bit desensitized to a lot. The last 20 minutes of this made my heart drop into my stomach and I felt pure, cold dread. Fantastic work guys, you’ve got a new fan. Would love to snag a blu ray if available

Those Directors who spend millions on making a horror can learn a lot from this !

I was absolutely horrified by this film. I followed the story and was genuinely concerned for Gary. At first, I wasn't sure if this was fact or fiction. The film makers did a good job building this story!

Gotta hand it to whoever created the sound effect of that cabin. The guy at the end was mildly scary, maybe we'll find out more context in later movies to make him more disturbing. But that otherworldly wailing or whatever it was sent a chill down my spine, like something straight out of Lovecraft. I'm on board for more installments of this series, better than most of the Hollywood crap that comes out these days.

one of the spookiest films i have ever seen. just the thought of being that far away from civilization by yourself at night is super creepy. the tension in that final 20 minutes was very intense. looking forward to the other films they put out.

I read the comments before I saw the end product. I didn’t even check the trailer out, I wanted to see it and feel it myself.
Absolutely terrifying!
I was white knuckling it towards the end. All parties involved did a phenomenal job! ❤

I came in on my boyfriend watching this movie. Legit thought it was a documentary, and was SHAKEN at the end for the footage they found on the camera. Had to pause to see if it was real. Haven’t been that scared of a movie in ages. Well done.

Really enjoyed this film. It was done so well that at one point I had to second guess whether it was a real documentary or not. The build up to the final scene was excellent and proper edge of your seat horror. Love to see a sequel!!!

01:05:38 ... This is one of the best things I've ever heard in horror movies so far. What a weird song-noise-sound-laugh! OMG!

I watched this and so much fear was sparked in me. It wasn't just some minor terror I was deeply terrified by this. It's unsettling

What makes this movie so good is it is actually possible. Unlike ghosts, witches, aliens, 'the government' etc, which are all possible in theory, this eventual outcome is indeed far more possible. I think the guy was very much human, but had chosen to live a reclusive life due to his severe disfigurements, and just wanted to be left alone and not found. People like this are often paraded as freaks and shunned from their communities from a young age. He kind of reminded me a bit of the elephant man. Someone who has bypassed getting any medical help, it's likely severely affected his mental health, which is why he killed him, that, and in order not to be discovered and further tormented.

The acting on this is so impressive, they sound exactly like documentary interviews

I thought it was real until the guy was taking video of himself shooting at the hermit. Then I knew something wasn't right. In reality you wouldn't take the time to set that up. You'd drop the camera, shoot and get the heck out of there. Sound effects were great. A better and more engaging film than most big studios. Two thumbs up.
