For a fuller, more accurate understanding of PhP1a, please refer to the 2018 consensus statement on Pseudohypoparathyroidism, and the 2020 Consensus update, both available on open access through web search. This video is inadequate and misleading for PhP1a. For example, PhP1a involves multiple hormone resistance (well beyond PTH resistance) and is highly variable across patients - repeating the classic presentation of it when there are huge variations makes diagnosis much more difficult for anyone without 'short stature' and 'mental retardation' (etc). (This is vital since very rare conditions already typically have a very delayed diagnosis). Furthermore, basal ganglia calcification doesn't necessarily cause 'mental retardation'.
