Google Maps vs Bing Maps: a comparison V2

A recent add-on has been created for Microsoft Flight Simulator which changes the map service from Bing to Google. This split-screen demonstration starts off at Caernarfon Airport (EGCK) in North Wales and flies down the Menai Strait as far as the Menai Bridge.

I had previously uploaded a version which showed a very noticeable difference between the two, and one of the comments questioned whether the settings were the same for both. They were, but I discovered that I had fallen for a 'gotcha'. It is vitally important to close the Google add-on using the method specified by the author. Failing to do so prevents the Bing version from running properly.

In the revised version, there is little difference between the two, apart from the landscape colour which is presumably the result of the mapping photography being taken at different times of the year.

Bing maps it’s more colorful and shining, but on google maps, it’s bright and sunny. I still prefer the Bing maps. It just they need more improvement to add realistic buildings and at least the famous buildings for the most cities. I mean they already did it in most famous cities, but still not all the cities. Still, there are famous buildings are missing. We want to see the missing high buildings rising up, I know it’s a worldwide map, and need more work, but they can do it since it will be 20 years game journey that requires lots of updates until they release the new version of MFS by 2040
