ABOUT THE LESSON 📚
If you want people to easily understand what you're saying, then it's important that you use the right words. In this lesson, I want to teach you some descriptive adjectives that will help people put a picture in their minds.

In order to give you a variety, I'll teach you useful adjectives related to the five senses. That way you can more accurately describe the things you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch.

And if you would like to review, here are the adjectives from the lesson.

(Sight)
Uncanny - strange, mysterious, or eerie, often giving a feeling of discomfort or unease.
Example: The uncanny resemblance between the two siblings was unsettling.

Dilapidated - in a state of disrepair or partial ruin, usually due to neglect or age.
Example: The abandoned house was dilapidated with broken windows and collapsing walls.

Gruesome - extremely unpleasant or shocking, often relating to something horrifying or macabre.
Example: The crime scene was gruesome, with bloodstains and mutilated bodies.

Mesmerizing - fascinating or captivating, holding one's attention or interest.
Example: The mesmerizing dance performance left the audience in awe.

Hazy - unclear or indistinct, lacking clarity or sharpness.
Example: The view of the mountains was hazy due to the foggy weather.

(Hearing)
Faint - quiet or weak in volume, difficult to hear or perceive.
Example: She could barely hear the faint sound of footsteps in the distance.

Piercing - loud and sharp in tone, capable of penetrating through other sounds.
Example: The piercing alarm woke everyone up from their sleep.

Raspy - hoarse or rough in sound, often due to a sore throat or vocal strain.
Example: His raspy voice made it hard for him to speak for long periods of time.

Thud - a heavy, dull sound made when something falls or hits a surface.
Example: The book fell off the table with a loud thud.

Vociferous - loud, noisy, or clamorous, expressing strong opinions or emotions.
Example: The protestors were vociferous in their demands for justice.

(Smell)
Overpowering - very strong or intense in smell, overwhelming the senses.
Example: The smell of the flowers in the garden was overpowering.

Heavenly - extremely pleasant or delightful in smell, evoking a sense of bliss or happiness.
Example: The aroma of freshly baked bread was heavenly.

Putrid - having a foul or offensive smell, typically due to decay or decomposition.
Example: The garbage in the bin emitted a putrid odor.

Toxic - having a harmful or poisonous smell, capable of causing harm or illness.
Example: The chemicals in the laboratory had a toxic smell.

Musty - having a stale or moldy smell, often due to being damp or poorly ventilated.
Example: The old books in the library had a musty odor.

(Touch)
Slick - smooth and slippery to the touch, often with a glossy or polished texture.
Example: The surface of the ice rink was slick and slippery.

Filthy - covered with dirt or grime, unpleasant to the touch due to being dirty or soiled.
Example: The kitchen floor was filthy and sticky.

Lukewarm - neither hot nor cold, having a moderate or tepid temperature to the touch.
Example: The tea had become lukewarm after sitting on the counter for a while.

Mushy - soft and pulpy to the touch, lacking firmness or structure.
Example: The overcooked vegetables were mushy and unappealing.

Cuddly - soft and inviting to touch, giving a feeling of comfort or warmth.
Example: The plush teddy bear was cuddly and soft to hold.

(Taste)
Subtle - delicate, mild, or not easily noticeable in flavor, often requiring careful attention to perceive.
Example: The wine had a subtle hint of oak and vanilla.

Strong - powerful, intense, or pronounced in flavor, often overpowering the taste buds.
Example: The cheese had a strong and tangy flavor.

Pungent - sharp, strong, or biting in flavor or aroma, often producing a strong sensation in the mouth or nose.
Example: The onions had a pungent odor and taste.

Savory - delicious, flavorful, or appetizing in taste, often associated with the pleasant taste of cooked meat or savory foods.
Example: The roasted chicken had a savory and succulent taste.

Succulent - juicy, moist, and tender in texture, often used to describe flavorful and moist foods.
Example: The ripe mango was sweet and succulent, bursting with flavor.

I’m really grateful for this class. I’ve read some novels to improve my English. However there have been lots of words that I think I can understand the meaning of, but still they are not mine as they are intangible. I’v never been to any English speaking countries and understanding something and feeling it is quite different. It’s like your class builds a bridge between the gaps. Thanks a lot.
