Pakistan election results: Protests against slow vote counting

The chief of Pakistan's influential army is calling for stable hands and a healing touch after an inconclusive general election. Both jailed politician Imran Khan and another former prime minister Nawaz Sharif are claiming victory but none of the parties have a majority. Independent candidates linked to Imran Khan's party have defied expectations and won 102 seats so far. They cannot form a government on their own - only join a party. Nawaz Sharif's party comes up next with 73 seats. and wants others to join a coalition. The centre-left Pakistan's People's Party in third place with 54 seats.

PTI had won over 170 seats, but the army and the Election Commission changed their result by 70 seats.

Military is changing the results to reduce PTI seats. Therefore, it is taking time to announce the results. PTI won 180 NA seats, 220 Punjab assembly and more than 100 in Kpk. Karachi had massive riggings.

This is first time in 75 years of Pakistan history that Pakistani people turned out this big for their basic human rights. They all were their to support favourite politician Imran Khan who is all on his own against the whole rotten system. Imran’s party was clean sweeping through whole Pakistan till 2000 hrs until then Pakistani army took over all polling stations and starting rigging. This is the best thing this military is expert in and is doing in every elections. The world should stand with 220 million Pakistani basic rights. This state belongs only to Pakistani people not to some power drunk generals.

It’s been 3 days since the elections now and the results of 14 seats have still not been released. Even after the massive rigging a PMLN candidate who officially lost asked for a recount yesterday which will take place at 10am today. Around 2 hours ago the polling office in that constituency has been sealed off by the police and there are unknown men inside there. You can all guess what they’re doing to the people’s votes. After all that rigging and handing 78 seats to other parties they’re still not satisfied and want to carry out further rigging. This will not stand in court and if the courts do not stand with the truth then might is right. We have stayed peaceful despite state oppression and tyranny for two years but now we have a clear mandate. If they continue to back us up against the wall then they will find out the 60 million armed men in Pakistan do not only bear arms for the protection of the motherland from the foreign enemies but also to safeguard their freedom. The soldiers will refuse to follow orders after two days and we will take control of the country by force if they don’t accept the peaceful will of the people through the ballot box.

According to initial results PTI had won 180 seats and 172 seats are needed to form a government which means Imran Khan's party had two third majority but the very next suddenly the PTI candidates who were winning started losing.
