ASP.NET Core 2 MVC Forum | 02 | Project Setup

Показать описание

In this course, we’ll build a feature-complete Forum application from scratch using ASP .NET Core 2.0 MVC with a Microsoft SQL Server database back end.

We’ll implement Azure file storage, SQL, and app deployment. We’ll work through each of the features in a natural order, starting out by setting up the overall architecture and basic features of the application, working through bug fixes, testing, and adding new features and customized styling as the course progresses.

Heads up for anyone following along with Core 2.1 or above. Identity no longer scaffolds files as is seen here when selecting the project template. Not sure if Wes ends up using them, but the template files can still be generated by following

Apparently the default controllers to go along are also not available, though there are sample project controllers here

Please note at the end of this series, we'll update the project to the latest version of .NET Core! :)

Could anybody please help me with the 'exact' same steps I need to follow to get this application working in my PC in 2020 with VS2019 .NET Core 3.1/2.1/2.2 ? The folder structure is not exactly the same right now plus there might be some changes I do not seem to understand at all as a newbie. I seem to be stuck here for a week : ( Please help

Hello Wes.. I watched the intro and the beginning... This seems to be a great source to learn and expedite..One question though.. I'm using VS 2019 and when creating a new project it comes with Core 3.0... the folder setup is not same as your initial one.. Mine has only three M-V-C folders lacking Data, Services, Extensions... With this initial setup, do you think I can follow the videos or any other suggestions.. Many thanks..,

I love your videos and your explanations are amazing. I'm just frustrated because there are so many differences that this is basically useless. It's obviously not your fault because it's just an update. Here are my differences in the generated solution.

- I have a folder called
- My Views folder doesn't have an Account or Manage folder
- I don't have a Services folder
- I don't have an Extensions folder
- I don't have bower.json or bundleconfig.json

Those are just some of the layout differences, not including the actual code differences. How can there be that big of a change from 2.0 - 2.1. Does anyone know of a good source to learn this with the current version of .NET Core?

Create this app using .NET Core 6. And you see big difference in code and in tutorial. Why . Core 2.0??? And how do add a moderation panel for users with a role moderator? :)

You are helping students out there! Please continue to help us, IT-students who are not knowledgeable about ASP.Net as this is my first time using this language.
