End of Season: Fred VanVleet - April 29, 2022

There was one sequence in game 6 which really defined this playoff for me. Barnes was fouled going to basket and turned to the ref and complained when the play was still live. Meanwhile Siakam fought for the ball, stole it and powered past the defender to score. Barnes saw it happen and dropped his head because he realized his mistake. The vet Siakam didnt give up on the play and the rookie did. Its the playoffs and an elimination game, you play til the whistle blows. Guaranteed Barnes doesnt make that same mistake next season. So much to be proud of this team, so much growth from the youngans, the vets leadership blossomed and they raised the ceiling. So proud of this team.

I pray for this man’s health. He shouldn’t have to run up and down the court for as long as he does.

Just because he got a 💰 doesn’t mean he should lead the league in minutes. Same for Pascal.

I hope he gets healthy, better and enhances his layup/floater package. Also I would like to see his minutes managed better and reduced to 32 to 37 minutes to keep him healthy in the long-term and also create space for the bench to grow as well.

Hero ball needs to stop next year. This is Siakam's team and OG should be the second leading scorer. Fred needs to play the role of facilitating and spot up shots and significantly less iso plays. Get everyone else going and make sure they're not just standing around for long periods of time. This happened to OG far too much this season when he has the talent to be a great scorer. If Fred can do this the raps will improve greatly.

When Sixers got on that run, Freddy would’ve been the guy to stop some of the bleeding. This is why his leadership is so vital. Get well for next year.

For all intents and purposes this was an overachieving season for Raptors. With all the pieces we let go most wrote them off as a rebuild. But we saw Siakam play All-NBA ball and elevate his game to a high level. We saw Trent, Precious, and Birch perform solid off bench minutes and with starting roles. Saw a hometown hero out of the woodwork with Banton. We saw the berth of our future and a genuine young kid and ROTY in Scottie. And we saw Freddy become a TRUE leader. I really love this team man. Win or lose its Raptors for life🦖🇨🇦🔥🏆

Masai NEEDS to get this man a backup PG for next season… we can’t have him playing 40 mins a game again. A healthy Fred in the playoffs wouldve beat Philly IMO but there’s so many casuals saying “we’re better without him” like I mean we’re talking about an all star all defence type player that’s been unhealthy since even before the all star break.
