Great video, Gary. I totally agree that marketing is a critical aspect of a voice over business (or any other business for that matter). Luckily there are loads of resources available to help beginning voice actors, including right here on YouTube.

Hello Gary. I've been watching your videos for months/years now and generally mulling, contemplating and dithering over the idea of trying to get into voice over work myself. My mulling is strongest usually after being prodded with a pointed stick by the Jobcentre who have quotas to fill and consider me good filler material. But there is a complication - I was hit by a car while cycling 22 years ago and have back, hip and neck problems which make jobs where attendance is required difficult or impossible. Working from home could be ideal. I was told back in high school in the early 1980s that I had a good speaking voice, though this might only be because I had a lower than average voice for my age at the time. I still have quite a low voice, but that doesn't mean I'd be a good voice over artist. And so I enter the dithering phase, wanting to get into voice over work, but lacking the focus or direction to figure out how to set about it. A couple of doses of brain fog in recent years haven't helped matters. This video might help bring a bit more clarity to my brain anyway. Thanks
