I used to work in a place where my boss would use any opportunity to hold a meeting in a local bar and persuade coworkers to join him in drinking. I was young so just thought it was cool at the time, but I realize now that he was an alcoholic just waiting for an excuse to drink. Crazy

This might apply in the west but doing business in Asia is very different - alcohol is expected and would be deemed as disrespectful in many situations

I will say though, being a wrestler and cutting weight takes a serious toll on your social life. Everyone's always like "why aren't you eating? aren't you having fun?" Then they always say "look at you, you don't need to be on a diet" because they're self-conscious about their own fitness.

I like to set things up with the server ahead of time. I get ONE glass of wine than, they serve me only non-alcoholic drinks. I always leave a great drinks tip, as if it were all alcohol. Someone's gotta drive home.... me! 😂😂😂

This is a great tip and honestly with the right people, it's totally cool. People who take issue with it... Well they're not people you want to go into business with anyway 😂

I find it's more of a habit/environment thing.

If you're someone like me with shitty willpower, the only thing stopping you from making bad choices is effectively controlling your environment to the extent that only good choices are available and convenient.

Eat low during day, eat a bunch during party/buisness, workout in between.

Showing up with reasonable boundaries only gets you respect from people with self-respect.

"I promise I am having fun."

Thanks Mike, I will remember that one.
Lol! Something tells me that Mike isn't having fun very often.

1. Studies have shown that being okay (every now and then) with foods that don't perfectly align with your goals, increases your chances massively at sustaining.
2. People only give a f*ck if you do. People will have issues with you deciding on healthier options if you look like you kind of don't want to. If you're 100% on board and having fun, only a d*ck is going to disagree. It can actually be a great conversation starter as long as you show you're open minded and having fun.
3. A business lunch doesn't have to greatly impact your goals, unless you're getting into the competative side or want maximum gains in minimal times. Both of which aren't recommended for 95% of the people. The business lunch only fails you if you have the mentality: 'well I screwed up already, might as well also...'. Pretty sure you can fit a business lunch into a diet that gets you results you like, even though it might mean some other compromises.

I work with sales from time to time and have been out on dinners with clients. I'm vegetarian so naturally I'm gonna be picky anyway. Never had any negative reception towards business relations from it. The opposite, in fact. They get a sense of moral cleanliness, discipline, and responsibility from it. Same should apply to the high protein/low carb dinner choices. I get that fat will always be the wild card for restaurants though

Not fair. Pulled out the coolest ceo of all. Of course Jensen wouldn't take it wrong because of his great personality and love for cooking and food

.. The only thing is that the client may feel self conscious .. but that's a good thing ...

Telling someone in 2024 "No thanks i dont drink" is actually a flex. Everyone is an alcoholic.

I think with food is fine. When it comes to drinks then I can understand it might get weird.
