Thank you. Recorded 4 piece. (2 trumpets, trombone and tuba). Close mics, room mics and field mic. 14 tracks in all. Had no idea where to start mixing. This has given me a place to begin. Cheers. :)

As a Trumpet player and a performer who has played this piece hundreds of times, I really want to go in there and fix that one note video!

Great video. I'm starting to implement horns on my music and this was a really good guide to where I can have brass sit nice in the mix. Thank you!!

you should make a video covering those drums. Sounds amazing!

Thanks for this video. I feel like I would improve my engineering with a structured mixing and mastering course. Any suggestions?

Thank you for not over-compressing! My biggest recording pet peeve liberal use of compression. Engineers, compression should be used very sparingly when recording horn sections! Considering the band was likely using dynamic mics, and the sound of the musicians themselves, you did a nice job. A bit too much reverb for my personal taste. I feel that horns lose their rhythmic pop with lots of verb.  Really nice tutorial.

Can you talk more how you choose those parameters in those EQs used in the brass section or do you have a video about it?

This is one of the best Brass mixing videos I've seen yet.Very well done! Some engineers double or even triple each part, your approach is a lot cleaner. What type of verb did you use? Did you use a plate, hall, or room verb? Also, why did you pan then right up the center Are you using L-C- R panning in your mix ? Would you recommend using little bit of a slap delay on horns if they need to be pushed back in the mix. Sorry for all the questions.

What about the stereo panning for each instrument?

This is a live recording, but I’m not hearing any bleed from other instruments. How did you accomplish that? Or are these overdubs?
