I tried for years to keep my Comcast bundle under $175, but they found every possible way to keep raising it even when I was reducing my packages. The final straw for me was a huge broadcast fee raise that would’ve gotten me to almost $200. Their greed turned me into a very happy cord cutter.

Luke, I hadn't had a chance to tell you how sorry I was to hear about your grandmother. I know you'll keep her in your heart and remember her well. I've been going through a similar situation. My mother died on the 14th of this month and I'm in the process of trying to tie up her affairs. She was 86, had been living with rheumatoid arthritis for decades, had developed a heart condition and fallen increasingly ill in recent months. She was in a lot of pain recently, but now she's at peace and no longer feeling pain for the first time in a very long time. Of course we selfishly wish they were still here, but I think there's a comfort in knowing their pain has been lifted. All my best to you and your family.

Good for you and family for making the funeral for grandma a priority.

I had an old-style cable TV/internet/phone bundle when I dropped cable TV. Got a mobile phone/internet only package that recently went from the 'intro special' to regular pricing, so with that regular pricing I'm saving $135/month. I just kept track of what I watching on cable TV for a month and it turned out to be stuff I could get with an antenna, on streaming, and one show is now shown (reruns) on regular Youtube. I'm only using free streaming services these days so you could say my cable bill is $ZERO$.

When I cut Dish, I was paying just shy of $130 a month I cut them June of 2023. Family when they cut Dish at the start of this year, they were paying $180.

I am paying over $160 per month for Cable TV + FCC charge $25. This week I am cutting the cord to the Cable TV this week. Streaming is more flexible and cheaper.

I pay $57/month for a Tv Package that has around 65 channels. It includes all Canadian and US over the air tv networks, Sports channels and a bunch of well known cable channels like Discovery, Food, HGTV, SciFi, History, A&E, TLC, etc. In Canada their is NO extra Broadcast Fee for USA over the air networks.

I used to have an internet/ cable tv bundle back in 2017. When the price increased to $170 per month, I cut the cord. After that, I was paying $60 a month for just internet.
