Sometimes the lyrics ruin the song .. My daughters just love the song, they were love singing it all the way to Texas. I would just ease drop and listen, 12 and 10 at the time .. and even if they understood the lyrics they didn’t care cause they love the song . Years later in 2009 we were in Oklahoma CITY AT Remington Race Track. They had the biggest outdoor black concert . SWV was closer to the front . I think Tank came on first followed by SWV, Ohio Players ( Sugar was alive then), then lastly Lakeside at last. Now I missed maybe one group in there but as you can we were jamming. My wife, my son, my oldest daughter, and me. My youngest daughter was living in Chicago. You know it was sea of black folks, some getting up grooving to the music, then popping up all over the place just jamming . Yeah there was weed in the air and vendors selling hats. I told my son see back in my day it was all about the bands . He couldn’t argue as he cut a step. I just stood back and left cause music R’Id’s the mind of stress leaving a space for you to be happy and enjoy . That Lead singer for Lakeside didn’t need no mic hit lit up the Eastside of Oklahoma City . There was no disturbances everyone was on the one and we’s good in the hood. Some of yall no what I’m talking bout barbecue Turkey legs, sandwiches, folks with their ice chest keeping these goodies. It was good a_ _ time..
