The problem Texas is that its Republican legislators and governor do not have the word “regulation” in its vocabulary. Instead of regulating Ercot to winterize its equipment after the last disaster it only made recommendations. Also that would mean cost to Ercot which is synonymous with the word “tax” to republicans so that it never made Ercot make changes. Full liability rests with the Texas government

5 days will not insulate a power plant nor supply all instance with generators. Each state should have this in place regardless expected weather. If only to supply assurance that emergency was intact fully supplied resourcing. The sun control is quite a bit more difficult to handle. Research sun spots and solar winds.
