In Nepal, at least 148 people have been killed by flooding and landslides, with dozens more still missing. Local media are reporting it as some of the heaviest rainfall in decades. The government says schools and colleges will remain shut nationwide for the next three days. Authorities in Nepal expect the death toll could rise, as reports are collected from the many villages across the remote mountainous country.

KP OLI is busy in sharing (Ukhan Tukka) jokes at universities in USA. He will return back to Nepal only after he finished telling all his jokes there.

In Kerala south india, we had unusually heavy rainfall this year. 300 people died in a single landslide incident. It rains so much for several hours in some regions. It's not cloud burst but not much different from that. Very destructive in nature

"Climate change is a Western imagination aimed at slowing down China's rise, " stated Chinese 🇨🇳 Xi Jinping. LOL
So, he keeps building coal-fired power plants.

Infrastructure played key role to protect life during natural disaster. To reduce future casualty, Nepal should learn from China and focus on improving its infrastructure.

For example, recent typhoon Yagi caused more than 300 casualty in Vietnam, 42 in Thailand, a few dozens in Phillipine, but only 2 in China.

There are numbers of rivers and streams in Kathmandu valley.. and in recent times settlements are increasing in low lands susceptible to flooding.. inside valley flooding happened specially in those areas.
And, besides Kathmandu valley there are numerous landslides around the valley.. even some road sections and few major bridges were swept away by swelling rivers and blocked by landslides.
This devastation is something not seen in many decades..

The most of the country is in a mountainous region. There's no excuse not to have a better drain system to protect the country from floods like these.
