the story : tomie was a girl who was cheating on her boyfriend with her teacher.

she got pregnant by teacher and she decided to tell him at a school trip where her boyfriend was present.

the boyfriend overheard the conversation between tomie and her teacher so he stepped in, forcefully trying to take away tomie.

they were at a cliff so unfortunately tomie fell down where all the other students were enjoying the trip.

they were in shock, watching her dead on the ground.

the boyfriend tried to call ambulance but the teacher told him not to call.

as for reasoning, the teacher said to her boyfriend that he cannot confess he killed her so they can hide the body.

every student accepted this because they thought tomie deserved to die because she was better than them, basically everyone was jealous.

every boy undressed themselves to cut tomie's body into multiple pieces at teacher's order.

the teacher said, he will start explaining about internal organs as they missed a biology class the other day.

as they were cutting her, tomie suddenly woke up and screamed for help.

the teacher said, do not stop so the students killed her by stabbing her.

they begin to cut her as the teacher was explaining about internal organs in details.

they turned her body into enough pieces so every single student can take a piece and throw it somewhere it can't be found.

the next day, everyone attends the class as nothing happened, as the class was about to start, tomie entered the class as she usually did.

everyone was shocked.

so, the plot is, tomie isn't a normal human and she seduce everyone to the point they want to kill her.

if you cut her into pieces, every single piece will grow into a whole tomie.

she gets more and more beautiful and lose her humanity little by little everytime she comes back.

every chapter and episode shows tomie coming back from the last incident and getting killed all over again in different ways.

I heard somewhere that Nanno's character is inspired by Tomie, which makes so much sense cuz there's an episode quite similar to this.

I love that each Junji Ito episode has a deep meaning about society, this one about Tomie is talking about how being beautiful is a sin itself and make people do harm to you while saying that it's entirely your fault.

For anyone looking for a explanation though I’m very very late.

The long pitch black hair girl was named Tomie, she was a beautiful woman, too beautiful that every man wanted to kill her so much because her beauty is too captivating. There are a lot of episodes regarding about her but I will be talking about the edit’s episode.

All of the students were on a trip, they were having fun and blah blah until Tomie came up to a random professor, it turns out that Tomie and the professor had a relationship and even possible, he (the professor) impregnated Tomie. When Tomie and are him argumenting, she suddenly falls from the cliff, everyone thought she was dead and so a group of male students started butching and amputating her into 42 pieces. When Tomie gets consciousness she suddenly screamed but the students covered her mouth.
After they butchered her into portions, they throw all of her remains into a river/lake (?).
When everyone was in school, the whole classroom was "mourning" her death. Until the door suddenly opens and we see Tomie once again, she was in perfect shape and everyone was shocked to see her alive even after they brutally murdered her. A small drop of blood falls from her eyes as the episode ends there.

How was Tomie alive?
Turns out, Tomie has multiple clones, she also regenerates. It’s a perfect gift and curse, they give you undying beauty and the curse is to be a victim of murder each time a man sees her and slowly goes insane and obsessed because of her.
(if I’m missing something, my apologies, I may have forgotten what happened to this episode since it was a long time that I have watched this series)

Now to depress everyone that’s willing to Google: this story was based off of Junji Itos thoughts of the 44 days of hell; in which Junko Furuta experienced true hell at the hands of abusers that got pitifully small sentences. The four (assumed) main perpetrators are Hiroshi Miyano, Jō Ogura, Shinji Minato, and Yasushi Watanabe.

They continue life in Japan as if they hadn’t committed the inhuman acts in their “youth”; they are true demons.
