Who Are The Branches? (Romans 11:19-22)

Romans 11:19-22 speaks of branches. If I don’t behave, will God cut me off and deny my salvation? It’s important to ask the 'Who, What, When and Why' questions in regard to this passage. The key to understanding is to recognize that it refers to groups, not individuals.

You didn't address the issue you started with regarding vs 21-22 of being cut off.

Why do preachers refuse to apply honest exegesis with this passage? You speak of the Jews as a whole, when the foundation of the Church is Jewish, saved by faith in Christ. He is speaking of the unbelieving Jews. Eternal life is "in Christ" for Jews and Gentiles, so Paul says, those Jews who were cut off, were cut off because of unbelief. Then he says, essentially, "if you don't continue in Christ, you too will be cut off." It's nothing to do with works or sin but turning away, discontinuing or not abiding in the love of Christ by faith.

We couldn't see the extent of "IT IS FINISHED" the earth quaked and the rock split at the foot of the Cross, Christs blood was released by the Roman soldier who pierced his side. There are glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous: The right hand of the Lord does valiantly; the right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly. His blood is sprinkled on the right hand side of the Mercy Seat! Psalm 118.

How do you eisegete this to be about groups? This about the individual Jew or gentile being grafted into Israel. We should let the text interpret itself. It's crystal clear it's salvation related.

Look at where else scripture talks about the branch being broken off. John 15:6, Matt 7:23, He 6:8.

In all cases when that branch is cast off from disobedience, it's cast into the fire. Yes, our promise of salvation is based on our obedience. Is 1:18-20
