Honda Civic VIII 1.33 i-dsi 83 hp with LPG - Acceleration 0-100 km/h

Poor acceleration of the Honda Civic VIII gen (2006) with the very good and reliable but damn slow engine (1.33 [1.4] i-dsi). I was driving on LPG installation but on petrol the result is just the same. About ridiculous 14,5 sec to 100 km/h with two passangers onboard. Great engine for city driving, astonishingly bad for driving out of town. V-max on highway around 170 km/h. i-DSi engine with it's embarrasing 83 hp is good from 0-70 km/h but lacks power when you're driving from 75km/h and above. Great car, great engine but 83hp is not enough for the heavy weight of the car, especially on speedy roads and higher hills.

This engine is a little slow but solid as a rock. It can travel a million km or 500-600 thousand km despite all the torture.

This Honda Civic VIII is more than good with 1.8 and 2.2 engines, which are reliable and very dynamic :) Anyway, thanks for showing us this poor 83hp

I sort of understand how you feel. I used to have an IQ3 (1.33l engine), and that accelerated really slowly, but it was smaller and lighter than a civic.
I really want to import a kei car to the UK, but I feel like driving anything slower than that would actually be dangerous on the motorways lol

You should use all the power, why change the first gear at 5, 000 rpm?:)

what's the consuption/mileage you're getting with the i-Dsi 83hp engine? and why did you change the gears at 5000 rpm and not 6000 or above? thx for the possible reply
