"what your doing is bad"
"no it's not, it's perfectly legal, don't hate me for following the rules"

A reminder to the audience that the reason 19th and 20th century factory owners hired children wasn't bc they needed tiny humans to do the job but bc they could pay them so much *less* then adults!

Sad part is it wouldn’t save the economy. It would just make rich people more money, and they already have all of it.

I wish I could vote for totally not evil candidates here in the USA, but I usually have to settle for not totally evil candidates.

They can be taxed and employed but can't even vote on the legislation relevant to their employment, we are regressing.

Fun fact, there is a UN declaration of child rights along with the declaration of human rights. But it's optional.
The US is the 1 country that refused to sign it.

Can't violate child labor laws... _if there aren't child labor laws._

America: where you can't drink until you're 21 but you can join the military when you're 18 and work in a slaughterhouse when you're 12.

And don’t forget these kids can’t vote until they are 18!

“But you’re only 21?”
“Will that stop you from hiring me?!?”
“No, absolutely not welcome on board”

And then when a job does get applicants, they deny 95% of them and complain about not being able to get employees

Don’t forget ‘parents’ can make their kids work and have their paychecks put into their account. A kid can literally do all the work for the ‘parent’ and earn the pay for them and it is legal.

Had a coworker who’s entire life was school, job, chores, and sleep. They never earned a dime and the ‘parent’ just sat around in the house watching TV all day, giving a list of chores when they came home at 1 in the morning.

My manager knew this and so he gave them the easiest tasks, a slightly longer break, and occasionally bought them food because their only daily meal was school lunch and nothing else.

I'm conflicted with allowing 14 year olds to work later. I remember being so mad that I couldnt work more because I wanted a headstart on saving for college at that age. At the same time, having to work for years in order to get a near necessary education is ridiculous to begin with.

'No One Wants to Work Themselves to Death for Wages They Can't Live Off Anymore'
There. Fixed it for them.

Even better: every employer says nobody wants to work but then they ignore their applicants. That's what's happening to me rn :)
