If you’re hardstuck bronze, it’s over lol

I do have a friend that seems to magically climb into the top ranks of any game he tries. No cheating; he's just incredibly talented and a fast learner. That translates to his real life as well, as he's an engineer now and does complex work. Respect.

this is completely false. All my loses are because my teammates are incompetent

You go to therapy so you can become a better person, I go to therapy so I can raise my rank in Leauge. We are not the same.

That's a new excuse I can use whenever I lose.

Anecdotally, I was a terrible student in high school, worked shitty jobs but then realised I got really good at games with the amount of dedication I put into getting better. This included watching pros, analysing areas of my gameplay, making improvements, and learning from my mistakes.

Through this dedication I’m now majoring in a biomedical science with a competitive GPA for med school. Ironically I didn’t take science classes in high school and scoffed at the idea, thinking it was only for “nerds”.

Without games, I wouldn’t have realised my abilities to work hard at something and subsequently work towards pursuing my dreams!

“My teammates are the reason why I’m losing” if you can’t 1v9 it’s still your fault. I had to 1v9 my way out of sliver and gold in order to play with players with cognitive flexibility. If I can do it you can too

"this is correlated with being good at League" may not be the W you think it is

"Learning" from my mistakes gave me anxiety

what's the difference between "cognitive flexibility" and fluid intelligence? Fluid intelligence = reason, problem solving, pattern recognition, high adaptability to new environments etc.

I was gonna say “a controller” to answer the title, but cognitive flexibility works too I guess.

Have you noticed that people who don't play many games where they die and start over seem to be more anxious in those initial deaths than others who have died and started over many times? Maybe more noticeable in adults bc they've had longer in life to recognize that it's okay to start over in a game?

good to know my mediocrity is not a "skill issue" but literally something wrong with my brain

What does cognitive flexibility mean? I’m not a native speaker.

As someone stuck in bronze due to un-cureable bad aim in every shooter game this was my reaction: 😐

Nah man, you don't understand, it's the game's fault whenever I lose, because it's badly coded.

I had taken a good 1 month break from league of legends ranked games. Time to prove myself as a "successful person" now.
