let's talk root pass. probably the most important pass to your pipe weld. as we have our gap and tacks in place, it's now time to get to the meat and potatoes. it's common for welders to have a flat root or lack of penatration on the root pass. one of the first things to remind yourself is to be pushing! push that filler wire! it's an easy self check. hope this helps! leave a comment if you'd like more info or maybe a video on doing and preparing a root weld. thanks for watching.
