The Jameis Winston Conundrum

Jameis Winston's career in the NFL has been nearly impossible to pin down through his first 5 seasons. A number one overall pick, the top passer in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history, and one of only 8 passers to throw for over 5,000 yards over a season are only a few among the accomplishments that indicate Winston is on a certifiable path to greatness. However, leading the league in turnovers since entering the league, becoming the first member of the 30/30 club, and failing to reach the playoffs through 5 seasons has left his status in doubt despite the records he's broken, and it's quite possible Winston has thrown his last pass for the Buccaneers after breaking the franchise passing record. So how do we make sense of Winston's incredible highs and lows moving forward? Well, it's impossible. But in this video, I give it a try anyways.

Jameis is the most accurate QB in NFL history, someone is catching the ball when he drops back. It might be the defense half the time, but someone is catching the ball lol

He's the Costco quarterback: everything comes in bulk.

"You're probably not gonna find a better fit in free agency or in the draft regardless."

Tom Brady: "Are you sure about that?"

Jamies Winston: Has most passing yards in the NFL
Also Jamies Winston: Thrown 88 INT in career and never made the playoffs

Next season: ... 6, 900 yds, 69 TDs, and 69 INTs

Not originally my comment but “ Jamies Winston has the rare ability to keep both teams in every game”

That Megaman INT montage was a stroke of brilliance

“Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Brett Favre the Wise? He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep the ones he cared about from remembering all his INT.”

Bruh we should get a face reveal when jameis Winston wins mvp
*welp* this didn't age well or plot twist drew gets injured for the whole year and jameis becomes THE GOAAAAT jk that would never happen
Welp its week 3 rn but jamies hasnt looked too bad maybe not mvp but if he did it would be the best take i’ve ever done

COACH: What kind of interception was that!?!? Who were you throwing to?

WINSTON: I dont exactly have a intended target I just aim for large groups.

COACH: 🥺

Lmaoooo safe to say you’re glad they got rid of him who would’ve thought a year later they’d have Brady and a super bowl championship

Watching this in retrospect was very entertaining. Regardless of the inaccurate predictions for 2020, this was a fantastic breakdown of one of the more confounding quarterbacks in recent history.

“Winstons asking for 30 Million a year”

Me: Ironic, he could throw 30 TD’s and INT’s in a season, but he couldn’t make 30 Million a year.

The brother can't even throw crab legs on the grill without having them intercepted.

I am watching this video 5 days after the Bucs won the Super Bowl with Tom Brady. I am also a 16-year season ticket holder. I said to my wife if the Bucs didn’t bring back JW I was going to cancel my tickets because I honestly didn’t want to sit through another 3-6 year rebuild project.... then they signed Brady. So I committed to the Brady years with the caveat that giving up on JW means that it was Super Bowl or bust - if they didn’t win a ring in 20 or 21, this wasn’t worth it.... well, guess it was worth it. PS : My own person rule says you aren’t allowed to complain about your team for 5 years after winning a championship. See you guys in 2026.
