🎵 Paroles / Lyrics :

Enola Gay
You should have stayed at home yesterday
Ah-ha words can't describe
The feeling and the way you lied

These games you play
They're going to end in more than tears some day
Ah-ha Enola Gay
It shouldn't ever have to end this way

It's 8:15
And that's the time that it's always been
We got your message on the radio
Conditions normal and you're coming home

Enola Gay
Is mother proud of little boy today?
Ah-ha this kiss you give
It's never ever going to fade away

Enola Gay
It shouldn't ever have to end this way
Ah-ha Enola Gay
It shouldn't fade in our dreams away

It's 8:15
And that's the time that it's always been
We got your message on the radio
Conditions normal and you're coming home

Enola Gay
Is mother proud of little boy today?
Ah-ha this kiss you give
It's never ever going to fade away

“8:15 “ - Little boy dropped in Hiroshima, The line “This kiss you give is never ever gonna fade away” can symbolize the long-lasting impact of the bombing—both physically and emotionally.- The song it’s actually anti-nuclear weapon emphasizing tragedy over triumph because innocent on both sides are affected 😢

The Enola Gay is a Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, named after Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot, Colonel Paul Tibbets. On 6 August 1945, during the final stages of World War II, it became the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb in warfare.

"Enola Gay, is Mother proud of Little Boy today?"

Well, the song speaks for itself!

I'm a hopeless romantic who thinks every good song is is about a girl. This is not and i love it.

Listening to Enola Gay right now brings back incredible High School Class of 87 nostalgia. Music and lyrics are so powerful full of melancholy.

I always thought this was a fun and upbeat song until I learned the meaning today. Still a great song but I have a different mood listening to it now.

Haven't heard this for decades. Was just a song to me back in the day. I knew Enola Gay was the name of the plane that dropped the first nuclear bomb. The bomb being Little Boy, which was dropped at 8.15. Was it a sin? Would it have been a bigger sin to have invaded and killed millions more? Millions of Allies, Japanese soldiers and Japanese civilians? The Japanese military wanted "the glorious death of 100 million". That being the population of Japan at the time. And there was an attempted coup to stop the emperor making peace
