It would be nice to show what it's like to be in someone else's shoes to somehow help build empathy for others. You never know what someone is going through in their work life when you happen to encounter them.

he’s like: “What is your dream job?”

I’m like: “I don’t dream of labor”

I had to retire at age 52 because of a disability. One thing I do not miss is work. I was a legal assistant for over 30 years and the stress is a killer. The legal assistants do all the work and the attorneys make all the money from it. I have been through rough periods of unemployment and not having money to pay my bills is horrible. I feel for all the people working two jobs to make ends meet as I had to do that in my younger years too.

$9 an hour for home care services is a Sin!!! If you're paying these companies to employ those who care for your loved ones..make sure you ask what they are paying their workers! Cause if it's anything less than $18+/hr...your loved one isn't getting the care they deserve!!!

This is important. As someone who has been in the work force since 2010 in labor intensive jobs, there has to he some sort of UI (Universal Income) mechanism where maybe it’s set up like a game?

In the sense that you can make incentives for people to work longer if they choose to by subsidizing some of that salary pay to businesses and on that same token lower/standardize the work week to 4 days of the week along with consecutive days off where available.

Manual laborers destroy their bodies no differently than some professional athletes and without the millions in resources to keep the I’ll effects of wear and tear away from your average Joe.

Thank you for making this documentary!

It should be mandatory for all greedy Corporate ( High paying Management ) America to watch this and then do a presentation for all the hardworking ppl under them! Many are barely getting by and stressed over the top because ppl in leadership do NOT advocate for ppl that work under them.

This is a good way to showcase to students too, to show them what they learn is used in what kinds of ways and what they should strive towards

I binged this. I had to stop on the last episode to pace myself. I became a mother as a child myself. One of my first jobs was as a CNA. I remember working 3-5 12 hours shifts and mainly on nights bc I got paid more. This series resonates with me and is a reminder of the epidemic of the poor and middle class is widening even more and it is so different all over.. I hope this helps people to remember TO VOTE. We have to stand up for the collective whether you have a gigantic mansion or a 1 bedroom condo. We need to support collectively by voting local, state and national. But voting local is where change happens.

Money is not a motivation...I agree, but what money can buy is motivation enough. goes down to basics food and shelter

He asked in the first episode "how would you life be different if you made $20?" It wouldn't be very nice if you lived in San Diego California at $20. I rent A BEDROOM in a strangers home for $1000. Gas was $6.00 a few months back. Milk 6.99 a gallon, eggs 7.99. If we continue the Great income divide, you will not have any service members working in your communities. You can say goodbye to ambulance drivers, mechanics, CNAs, child care providers, mail carriers, teachers, dental techs and the list goes on and on.

Working makes a huge difference once you've put your all into it. Somehow, it can also be taken for granted.

Makes me remember the old saying of "try to find a job you like doing.. " The hard truth is there's so many jobs that are essential but aren't exciting, too tough, disgusting etc.. That so many people would just stop doing it if they had the option to

One thing I did notice in this series is how unhealthy service and office workers looked. Maybe he should have asked about their nutrition and the price of food. Too little attention paid to the health of our workforce.
