How to make a Closed Ecosystem - Ocean Water

I made a sealed ecosphere in a mason jar using ocean water. This is my very first enclosed ecosphere I have ever made. I am happy with the outome and wonder how the future will look for this jar.

Hi. Can I ask advice. I will be starting off a 3 litre (5.3 pints) sea water ecosystem jar on Monday. Would you advise me to put a small amount of activated charcoal at the base ? I have 50 grams (1.8 oz). Thank you.😊
