Illustrating a background with a loop animation with Captivate.
This video shows how to illustrate a background with a loop animation without using an animation software or html5/css3, but by creating visual cycles within a picture as we do in cartoons then by editing a Captivate script.
This video focuses on the way to create this picture or scenery intended to be animated in loop:
- the definition of its size,
- its creation with visual cycles,
- its right positioning in the slide,
- its animation with the Effects panel and rules to be used in order to avoid a wrong animation or visual skips at each loop,
- a script enabling to this picture to run in loop (from a technical point of view).

You can see an easier way to make this type of animation with Captivate 2017 and 2019 at the following address:

I love how carefully and clearly you provide all the steps to achieve this effect. You obviously planned every click and knew exactly what to emphasize.
A possibility, I had a thought that you could create your own user variable, MyFrame, and set that On Enter of the slide. Then adjust your loop_animation() script to do the Expression cpCmndGotoFrameAndResume = MyFrame + 'offset' where your offset is that experimental value you determined for the smoothest loop.

Then the slide and script could be placed any where your deck without having to manually code the exact frame.

Again, brilliant work!

that's incredible!
I spent hours on trying the same with gif background animation and htlm5 animation,  but I didn't imagine, that it's so easy!

I have made a new video showing an easier way to make loop animations with the "while" action with Captivate 2017 that also work with Captivate 2019. For landscapes like shown in this video there is no longer need to send back the timeline at the beginning of the slide, and it is easier. We can make that in 3 states only with the State view feature. Other animations are also shown. Here is the link:
I hope you will like.
