It saddens me to see an intelligent person with a lot of credentials try and defend his false religion. Andani is actually a GOOD scholar BY MUSLIM STANDARDS OFC--it's just that Islam CAN'T be defended without circularity or plain dishonesty. I've also never heard Khalil give a convincing argument to think Islam is true. The problem is, no matter how hard people try, Islam HAS TO BE false.

It's amazing that Muslims use that verse which speaks of a group of Jews writing false books for a profit. The tafsir explain that this was a group of people in Medina - how would that affect ALL of the Torahs that existed in numerous places at the time? This guy appeals to academic scholarship, but no scholar would argue for a corruption of the Torah because of "some" small group of Jews in Arabia did.

The Muslims have to remember that the quran came out in the 7th century. By that time, the bible that we have now is already present and widely circulated to different areas of the world. The Latin Vulgate is already present at the time of Muhammad. The Peshitta, a Syriac translation of the bible, was commonly used by Christian communities in the Middle East. Syriac is a dialect of Aramaic and was widely spoken in regions like Syria, Mesopotamia, and parts of Arabia.
