Why did Google abandon such an awesome VISUAL bookmark manager??
It was so cool, stylish.. and now we have to be satisfied with a simple text-only remains of it. Couldn't they at least give people a choice to stay on that version?

This new bookmark manager is shit. Had to disable it through the browser configuration flags. Rule of thumb: If it isn't broke don't try to fix it. It wasn't broken... Not everything has to be overly graphical to be good. Ugh. Google should have their programmers work on chrome's memory management.

It's shockingly bad - managed to get it back, thanks to other pissed off users, using the 'flags'. If this eventually gets stopped, I'm off back to Firefox.

This new Google Chrome bookmarks have cost me a lot of time it dosen't deserve.  Just trying to delete "one" item bookmarked cost me the entire file of over 375 items.  I quickly clicked "undo" and it didn't undo. I lost a years worth of work used for classes in school. Yes, maybe I won't need it for the future, but seriously, this doesn't make sense. I'm changing browsers.

erik schaepers Simple my friend, It's because I like it. I like the design, and although I hate the fact they didn't add the ability to view subfolders in the main navigation for quicker organization -- I generally like the forefront layout of the information added to each bookmark.

It comes down to personal preference mate. For me, this makes managing the categories, information, and tags for bookmarks that I need in order to work with my projects, video production, code, and art.

For others, it's not so useful, and what sucks objectively is no ability to craft it to fit those wants if it's not fitting for you -- which is likely to change down the road.

After I get the new bookmark design just one week and it disappeared, I do some search and I found out that regarding to a huge negative feedback from users google decided to roll back the old one, but I liked the new one is there anyway to get it back please help

Hello, bookmark manager can not display the bookmark picture? Can not be used? A while back also can be used, how to solve it? I like it suggested that you can change the mode, the new old, old change the new model, maybe For those who love new bookmarks or old bookmark lovers, you can change the mode

Had all my 6 years of bookmarks deleted at once because of google chromes new update. If not the ability to disable the new bookmarks, not sure what I would have done. I have a sneaking suspicion I will have to switch to Internet explorer in the near future.

Max! Sorry to say that it appears that Google has yet to integrate the new manager with the mobile chrome -- so there's no direct link to add to the official mobile bookmarks -- but you can always create a custom folder in the default bookmark area titled "Mobile" and use that until they decide to upgrade the mobile's chrome. (I believe part of the slow down with them doing this is due to them freezing a version of the mobile chrome for android ICS).

I really loved this extension from the beginning but for more than half a year Chrome's bookmark manager images are not showing after I close the browser and re-open. I wonder why, and any idea how to fix this?

This new version of Google Chrome Bookmarks ROYALLY SUCKS. 
I liked the old tried-and-true folders/sub-folders, drag-n-drop, tabbed navigation of bookmarks. 
Now, somehow when I click to add a bookmark, it comes up with some weird picture logo thing [which I give exactly zero $h!ts about], and only shows "Bookmarks bar" as a choice, along with "view all bookmarked items".... occasionally, it throws in the most obscure ever folder that I forgot I ever created years ago....Literally a dozen+ custom folders I created have completely vanished...[yet they're easily found in the old-fashioned manner up at the top of the window before I navigate to the new crap].... Either way, when I click "View all bookmarked items Holy Hell!!!! Sooo cluttered and not as folder/subfolder it used to be. ...Plus, even when I finally navigate to where I want it to There's no button to add the new bookmark to that folder!!!! It's just showing me that folder and what I already had in it!!!! 
Seriously... there's ZERO way for me to add new bookmarks to my old folders. 

I will be deleting Chrome soon, and finding a new browser. 
This is frustrating and disappointing, as I've been a huge chrome supporter since I first discovered it yeeears ago. 
They went and totally effed up something that absolutely positively didn't need to be touched. Ridiculous!!

Thank you for the link! It updated my browser and then I got used to it (aka organized) and it disappeared! I guess I'm one of the few people who likes it better ...

Is anyone able to tell me why my "bookmarks" have now disappeared each time I turn my computer on. If i keep opening new tabs they eventually come back and i see them under the Google logo and they will show up on each new tab until i turn my computer off and then they are gone on next log in until again i keep opening new tabs (approx 20 new tabs then they "appear" again). This has only just started to happen and i havent been into any computer settings to alter anything. Very weird.

hi their i got a question, like in the old version if i press Ctrl+D it would show me in which folder i want to add my video as bookmark and their was a Ok button but now if i press Ctrl+D it only add into "other Bookmark" on the top right  , but if i select the bookmark folder 1st and then press Ctrl+D it goes in that specific folder. so now i want to add any links into bookmark like before can u please help me ? Although this new bookmark viewing page is far better thn the old 1

Stupidest idea ever to change the bookmark system. Many complaints. People hate it. I'm sure praise was given to the idiot who thought of this but the simple fact of the matter is that it's time consuming to review each and every block to find a bookmark. Also, you shouldn't have to rely on a Search function to find a bookmark unless you see hundreds or even thousands of entries. Here, they are blocks that make up maybe a dozen or so on the screen. You would ALWAYS have to search because of this. That's inefficient and invalidates the need for a bookmark system. Many folks are saying, if they want to "search" for a bookmark they can simply go to Google and do it there. This was a bad idea to change this. Unfortunately google does NOT care about user opinion. They have a history of rolling out changes without user input. It's stressful and annoying to deal with google. They just don't know how to do a good job!

Lots of feature are not present in Google bookmark manager, like tagging, categorization and many more.

I hate cards.  Look at NBCNews.com.  Cards worked so "great" for them they had to reverse it.  Cards only work on tablets because of navigation, but even then you have to understand that cards as a design concept reduces information in exchange for click surface!
