Simulators like Freerider allow you to adjust your camera angle.
That can save you repair cost to get an idea.

I say, much depends on location and proximity of the surroundings.
I mostly fly indoors or in a forest among trees. In a constrained environment, everything seems to happen super fast. So when I come to fly in an open area with tall buildings, wide empty streets, and more space to fly, the world suddenly seems bigger and slower. So, my advice would be to play with a combination of copter size and power, rates, and the flying spot scale :-)

I struggle with juggling a soccer ball. But yesterday, we took a gym ball to the field with kids, and I could easily juggle it. It moves much slower because of its size, and it is more forgiving about kick precision.

Rates and a good tune is the trick. Most people have no idea their quad is flying as poorly as it does. Not gonna lie. This is my first time seeing a Johnny FPV video. Seriously. And I'm now realizing that I kinda fly like he did (years ago).

Also the tilt looks pretty steep and the fov is wide. These adjustments might help create the slowmo effect.

I think he's talking about how some quads are more floaty than others... I think airmode has something to do with it, but also just a light quad with a lot of horizontal surface area will fall at a slower rate.

To the guy who asked the question, if at some point you're seeing this: I always asked myself that question you asked, like, how in the world do they get such hang times? Recently I built my first 5" that has the kind of power-to-weight ratio these people go for. And that seems to be the secret. Not a light quad per se, but a quad that's really powerful for how much it weighs.

Actually it all depends on the quad and setup because my lil rekon 4fr stays in the air lol I could pull off 2 rubiks cubes and still be in the air....if I knew how lol
