Guadalupe River State Park | Texas State Parks
Spring Branch, Texas

💥Overview 💥
We visited Guadalupe River State Park located in Spring Branch, Texas. We go over entrance fee of the park, point of interest, trails and check out some of the campsites.

Many folks come here to Guadalupe River State Park to swim, but the park is more than a great swimming hole. Beautiful scenery and colorful history await, just a short drive from San Antonio and Austin.

On the Guadalupe River, you can swim, fish, tube and canoe. While on land, you can camp, hike, ride mountain bikes or horses, picnic, geocache, and bird watch.

💥Hit the trail💥
Explore 13 miles of hiking and biking trails. Trails range from the 2.86-mile Painted Bunting Trail to the .26-mile Barred Owl Trail, which leads you to a scenic overlook of the river.

💥Paddle the Guadalupe River💥
Kayak, canoe or go tubing in the Guadalupe River. When the water levels are good there are several options for paddling trips. The park is also the starting point for the new 5-mile Guadalupe River State Park Paddling Trail.

💥Discovery Center💥
Learn more about the park’s natural features at the Discovery Center. Take a closer look at nature using magnifying glasses, microscopes and binoculars. Explore hands-on discovery boxes and exhibits. Ask about borrowing an explorer pack!

💥Honey Creek Tours💥
Explore Honey Creek State Natural Area with a guide. We lead 2.5-hour tours at 9 a.m. every Saturday, and on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday of the month (call the park to confirm). Learn about the history, geology, flora and fauna of this protected area. No pets are allowed. Check the Honey Creek Events page for upcoming tours.

💥Nature💥
Looking past the trunk of a bald cypress tree at the river at sunset. The Guadalupe River is the park's most outstanding natural feature. Imposing bald cypress trees line the banks. On its winding path through the park, the river courses over four natural rapids. Two steep limestone bluffs reflect the river’s erosive power

OH wow, your low shots at the beginning over the river and the tree gave me chills. That cliff overlook is amazing...HOLY SNAKES!!!! At 3:45 that Cypress tree is HUGE, I wish we would have seen that in person. We need to go back.

Good narration. 👍 Very informative. 💪 Haven't been to 'Lupe yet. Discovery Center Trail was good. I think the Overlook Trail was the best. Nicely done. 😀

I think this might be one of the parks we talked about staying at back in December. We ended up not staying because we were all about getting to the beach and ended up driving straight there rather than stopping. Anyway, this looks like a nice park. Maybe another time for us.

Guadalupe River State Park was the first state park I went to since it's the closest to where I live in San Antonio. I've been to it two times and made reservations to go a third time but because someone who was infected with Covid-19 went to the park, they shut it down for two weeks and haven't made it since. Great info and great video!
