I know what you mean, but there was an ancient sect of Christianity called Gnosticism that is now very unpopular among modern Christians, particularly devout ones unable to admit that they could be wrong, and is widely condemned as a heresy.

In truth, there are people who claim to be gnostic-atheists and claim to be Gnostic-theists ... but everyone is agnostic as no one is capable of demonstrating that a god does or doesn't exist. People tend to think that if they are supremely confident in a belief they hold then they can say they know their belief is true. Nope. Your ignorance of how you could be wrong isn't proof you are correct.

I was once atheist and the only compelling question that I always asked myself was how does all existence intertwine so perfectly? I slowly started to believe that there had to be a first. Whether it be alien intervention or not I have no choice but to believe we came from something creating existence.

So from my understanding of this to say “I don’t know” is a statement on one’s knowledge and ability to know things. And “I am unconvinced” or “I do not believe” is a statement on one’s belief which is separate to one’s knowledge. So these two things are different and cannot be interchanged because they represent different philosophical states.

I am not an Atheist I am just not religious. Drives some of the bible bothers insane when I say this but the wiser ones get the point and leave it alone lol.

I always say knowledge is demonstrable, beliefs are personal. If you claim to know something to be the case then you must be able to demonstrate it. If you cannot demonstrate it but still claim it to be the case then it is a belief.

I remember one time I told someone I was agnostic and they accused me of being a coward and not picking a side. I was like no dude I just don't care about whether a god exists because it doesn't affect me one way or the other in my day to day life. It's not something I can encounter in my conscious life. I would say I'm atheist toward world religions. But I'm agnostic toward the concept of a conscious will force behind the universe, some kind of unknowable larger "life" or whatever that I can't account for. I admit we don't know much about the universe and our perception of it is pretty limited with our human brains. So I just try to operate within the limits of my abilities as the animal I am.

I guess you could say that I am an agnostic atheist, but the evidence of god's absence so overwhelms the slight chance of him oozing through the cracks is so negligible that it is beneath consideration.
