Betty Broderick Incident

On November 5, 1989 Betty Broderick left her home in La Jolla, California early on a Sunday morning and drove to the home of her ex-husband, Dan, and his new wife, Linda. She snuck into their home and shot both of them to death while they lay sleeping in their bed.

This video covers some of the high points leading up to Betty committing this horrible crime.

Dan was a brilliant man, and succeeded in everything he did including driving Betty to madness.

Your ability to tell a story while mapping the locations out is masterful. Thank you for another incredible video. Nice to see your brother!

Glad to see your back! Seeing a place where history occured versus reading about it is always better. It provides such a unique perspective. I ALWAYS enjoy your videos.

Shows you how worthless a restraining order ultimately is when someone is that determined. Nice video as always.

Also for those that do not know, Larry Broderick (Dan's brother) who helped him hide assets during Dan's divorce and who is executor of Dan's estate.( That includes Dan's kids).
Dan left a will when it came to Linda to inherit certain amount in case of his death. Linda's family never got anything, Larry's argument was " :Linda died first...Dan was still alive).
Nice guy right?

I remember the story well, as I read a book about it. I still have mixed emotions about it. How very interesting to see the actual places where this story unfolded. Thank you Forrest for all your hard work. You're the best!

What Betty did was terrible. But his gaslighting her, lying, cheating had taken a toll. Even one of the male jurors in her first trial said ”what took her so long?” I think what Linda Kolkena did was so cruel. Sending her wrinkle cream advertisements, and weight loss supplements, and taking Betty’s wedding China. So awful. Betty deserves to be in prison. She murdered 2 people. But I honestly don’t hold that against her. Dan and Linda brutally tortured her emotionally.

Thank you for putting this together, sir. That lady sounded highly disturbed and it was a real tragedy that she didn’t get the help she needed. 😢

Dan sounds like he didn’t accurately calculate the potential consequences to his actions.

I have been following this case since the beginning and have read all the books. The best one is Bella Stumbo's book, "Until the 12th of Never". The book is very well written and researched. What I liked most about it was that it was very impartial and the final thought seemed to be, "They were both narcissists and both terrible people. They deserved each other."

May I make a request Forrest? I have always been interested in the details of the D.C. Beltway sniper case involving John Mohamed and Lee Malvo back in 2002. I had family in the area at that time and I recall traveling through that area just weeks before this event occurred. Your attention to detail and ability to pinpoint locations would make a fascinating video.

Forrest, you remind me of my 7th grade teacher Mike Haywood. Everyday while the class was doing assignments he would pull one student out and play chess with them until the whole class knew how to play. Not that you play chess with your students but he took the extra time to sit there with every student, everyday, with every class that went thru 7th grade. I’m 57 years old now and I’m still learning from outstanding teachers like you. Well done my friend. I hope your students, parents, and peers realize what a gem they have.

This is an unbelievable post Mr. Haggerty! I have heard of this but wow, this is incredible. The concrete engraving still there, I’m just speechless. Great job for your brother suggesting this. I’m actually more surprised that I’m late to your upload. Lol
