Story telling - Narratives are made, told and conveyed, serves an enterntiang and didactic role, How stories express and reflect particular lives and cultures. Story telling is mainly done through oral tradton, visuals (rock paintings) and movemetns and dance . Dreaming stories communciate Abroginal cosmolofy *understanding of the world*, song lines may also be used to empahsis the cultural significane of the land. Reading fariytale provides insifht on the perspecitves of older generatoins (express and reflect different cultural ideas) . Frame story narrative that frames or surrounds another story or set of stories, they illustrate the entracing power and beauty of stories. Historical stroy tradtions can be identiifd if there are meta -narratives (same stories or plotes which appear in dfferent texts across a range of traditons, religions, cultrues and time periods ) i.e Heros journey . Archetypes -reoccurring images, patterns, symbols, characters whcih appear across a wide range of cultures i.e VIllian, Innoncent, hero, Everyman, Femme fetale . Incorportating classic meta-narratives and arcehtypes illusttrates how we are all connected by our common humanity (despite our unique individuality) across time and place. Storytelling allows indiivduals to make sense of their experinces as humans. Representations : the way ideas are portrayed and represented in texts, using language devices, features forms and sturcutres to create specific views about characters events and ideas. You need to identify how techniques express ideas (what a text is saying and how it is being said) .Poems could be a literary form chosen to represent and explore indieivisual and emotional human experinces upclose, the sturcuture can be personalised to best convey their dieas such as rhyme scheme and rhtynm to make sense of a complex idea, fragemented sentecning could indicate confisuion and disconnection with the world around them. Poetic techniques could involve casure - a break or pause within the pooetry to indcated by puncturaion makrs to emphasise meaning . Prose fiction (novel, short stories) create detailed characters, vivid setting s and complex plots whcih allows audiences to be immersed in a rich imagniantve world compelling them to reflect on the vast variety of human behaviorus, experinces and responses. A technique used :Focalisation (presentation of a scene through the subjective perception of a character ). Non-fction texts such as Media articles are effectve in documenting shared Human experinces, such as key cultrual events and historical moments, however despite the fact that these texts are about the real world, composers still shape their texts to make the audinece respond in a particualr ways . They frame and direct our views . Techniques include : correlative and ethos.
